Monica Lynne (Sowders) Sifers, 61, of Greenwood, IN passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born April 16, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN.
She was a 1975 graduate of Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis, IN. She had been a federal claims processor for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Indianapolis for over 20 years. She later had been a school bus driver for the Center Grove Community School Corporation for fifteen years. She enjoyed figure 8 track racing at the Speedrome in Indianapolis, IN. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially on trips to Chicago via Amtrak.
Survivors include her husband Christopher W. Sifers, whom she married on July 7, 2017 in Indianapolis, of Greenwood, IN., her son Gary W. Stofer (Remy) of Franklin, IN; her daughter Jennifer L. Stofer (Jeff) of Lawrence, IN; her three grandchildren Angela Stofer, Ashley Stofer, and Adriana Stofer; her mother Jeanie Buscemi (Vincent) of Southport, IN; two sisters Michelle Burris of Indianapolis, IN and Debbie Mullenix (Rick) of Greenwood, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Monty B. Sowders.
Pastor Dan McLaughlin will conduct a service on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. Friends may call Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 2-7PM at the mortuary. Entombment will take place in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood, IN.
