Mary, accept this expression of love in honor of your mother, Florence. As you know so well, my mother, Angie, was Florence’s room-mate for more than a year. Angie, can’t claim to have been close friends with Florence, but due to their small living space, their daily activities became entwined. Although the nursing staff named our mothers the “sleeping sisters,” we could easily have called them the “feisty sisters”, since they surely shared that character trait also. Florence’s difficulty hearing was definitely complimentary to Angie’s habit of watching her tv at full volume. We can attest to reaping the benefits of your constant care and loving watch over your mother. Florence may have lost her cognitive ability to express gratitude to you, but please rest assured we are confident she knew you loved her. So as my mother adjusts to Florence’s absence from her daily routine, please know she is also missing your daily greetings. Angie has mentioned how glad she is that Florence is no longer confused or struggling in this life. Angie said to be sure to tell you, she will continue to pray for you as you adjust to you new routine.

With condolences in the loss of your mother, Florence. Death is a fearsome enemy. We rebel against death because our Creator, Jehovah God, “put eternity in our hearts.” Ecclesiastes 3:11. God’s original purpose was for us to enjoy earth’s beauty forever, not for 80 years or so. Psalm 90:10. That is our heart’s desire. God promises us that there will come a victory over death. In time, Jehovah God will resurrect those who have died. Acts 24:15; John 5:28, 29.
